This Privacy Policy explains how León Y Sol, Inc. (“Sol Hour,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Sol Hour. Sol Hour is a free hosting product sponsored by León Y Sol.
We try to keep this readable. If something is unclear, email us at privacy@leonysol.com.
1.Who We Are
Sol Hour is operated by León Y Sol, Inc., a California company. The León Y Sol tequila brand is owned by León Y Sol, Inc. For purposes of privacy laws that require a data controller, León Y Sol, Inc. is the controller of personal information collected through Sol Hour.

2.The People We Collect Information About
Sol Hour has two kinds of users.
Hosts are the people who start a gathering using their own account. Hosts go through onboarding, upload a face photo, and connect their Apple Music subscription.
Guestsare the people who join a host’s gathering through a QR code. Guests provide a name and optionally an email address.
The information we collect, why we collect it, and how long we keep it differ between hosts and guests. We explain both below.
3.Information We Collect From Hosts
When you create a host account, we collect:
- Apple Sign In identifier. We use Sign in with Apple. Apple provides us with a stable identifier and, depending on your choice, your name and email address. We do not see or store your Apple ID password.
- Profile photo. A photo of your face that you upload during onboarding. This is used to generate the DJ figure shown on the visual layer during your gathering. See Section 6 for details.
- Apple Music connection. We connect to your Apple Music account through Apple's MusicKit to play music. We do not see your Apple Music password. We do see what is playing during your gathering.
- Gathering settings. The vibe, duration, output device, visual destination, and other choices you make when setting up a gathering.
- Usage information. When you start gatherings, how long they run, what features you use, and similar information about how you use the product.
- Device information. Device type, operating system, app version, and similar technical information.
4.Information We Collect From Guests
When you join a gathering as a guest, we collect:
- Your name. Required so the host and other guests know who is in the room. Displayed in notifications when you request a song or share a moment.
- Your email address. Optional. We use it only if you opt in to receive emails from León Y Sol about Sol Hour and related experiences. If you do not opt in, we do not retain your email after the gathering.
- Song requests. The songs you request through text or voice.
- Voice recordings. Short audio clips when you use the voice request feature. We process these to identify what song you are asking for. See Section 7.
- Photos. Photos you choose to share with the gathering. By default these are deleted after the recap is delivered to the host. See Section 8.
- Gathering participation. The gathering you joined, when you joined, and how you participated.
5.Information We Collect Automatically
When you use Sol Hour as a host or a guest, we automatically receive:
- IP address and approximate location based on IP
- Browser or device type, operating system version
- Pages you visit on solhour.ai and actions you take in the product
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics
- Cookies and similar technologies, described in Section 11
We use this information to operate the service, fix bugs, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
6.How We Use Face Photos
Face photos are sensitive. Here is how we handle them.
When a host uploads a face photo during onboarding, we process it to create a stylized DJ figure that appears on the TV or other visual destination during the host’s gathering. This is the centerpiece of the product. By uploading your face photo, you give us permission to do this processing.
We store the original face photo for as long as your account exists. We may use it to generate or update the DJ figure when you choose new personas or when the product features change.
We do not sell face photos to third parties. We do not use face photos to identify you across the internet or to power any biometric identification system.
You can delete your face photo at any time by contacting us. When you delete your account, your face photo is deleted within 30 days, except where law requires us to keep it longer.
Some US states (including Illinois under BIPA and Texas under CUBI) and some countries have specific laws about biometric information. If you live in one of these places, our processing of your face photo is based on your consent given through use of the service.
7.How We Use Voice Recordings
When a guest uses the voice request feature, we capture a short audio clip. We send the audio to a third party voice transcription service to convert it to text, then identify the song the guest is asking for. The text and the identified song are saved as part of the gathering history. The audio clip itself is deleted within seven days unless we need to retain it briefly for quality assurance or abuse prevention.
We do not use voice recordings to identify you by your voice or to power any voice biometric system.
8.How We Use Shared Photos
Guests can share photos during a gathering. These photos appear in the recap video that is delivered to the host.
By default, shared photos are deleted after the recap is delivered to the host. If the host chooses to save the recap, the photos remain part of the saved recap. The host can delete a saved recap at any time, which removes the underlying photos.
A guest who shared a photo can ask us to delete it before the recap is finalized by contacting us at the email above. Once a host has saved the recap, removal requires asking the host or contacting us with a deletion request.
9.How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Run gatherings (play music, accept requests, show the DJ on the TV, deliver the recap)
- Authenticate you and protect your account
- Communicate with you about the service (gathering reminders, recap delivery, important updates)
